Letter from President (Chi)

Welcome

We are excited for the quality and depth of engagement between our members, program participants, sponsors, and other stakeholders.  Initiatives launched over the course of the last several years have evolved to mesh and open great opportunities, now well beyond Chicago.

Our Speakers Series, in its fifth year, features business executives at the highest of levels sharing messages which transcend industry, capitalization, and geography.  While in-person audience participants often exceed 200, a much broader community became evident.  Thus was launched Beyond Borders, our video streaming program.  Remote viewers participate in Q&A and surveys, and receive benefits and information.  Our programming has now been distributed to Kansas City, Minneapolis/St. Paul, and Denver in the American Midwest, Toronto, and crossing over, London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Edinburgh.

BritView, a video and written article platform celebrating stories of successes, challenges overcome, and war wounds, was launched in October 2015.  In these few months it has been met with incredible success and further syndicated to other BABC Chapters.  Explore at www.britview.com.

This run of programs and initiatives will lead to Chicago hosting the 2017 Transatlantic Conference.  Following most recent conferences in New York and London, the 2017 event will see 2,000 member companies from across 22 BABC Chapter cities have the chance to participate in an incredible dialogue with thought-provoking leaders – each challenging our assumptions and helping to define that fine edge of opportunity.  Participate in the building of the Conference at www.babc2017-chicago.com.

All of this is has been the product of a BABC which is keen to be relevant – demonstrably relevant.  Our community makes an investment in the BABC with each program and event, and the return on that investment must be material and tangible.  Such takes a concerted and sustained effort by the BABC staff and board; no one can let up on innovating, testing, measuring and, of greatest importance: listening.  You, our true BABC investor, are a precious resource.

With great thanks,

Tom Stevens
